When we selected Oakley innovations to honor the 10th Mountain Division of WWII, we knew styling had to be as aggressive as technology. There’s simply no other way to salute athletes who endured the extremes of ice and altitude to take innovation to its highest level. Today’s mountain athletes bring style to the street with Oakley GASCAN sunglasses, and this special edition gives a nod to the heritage of grit, guts and glory that reinvented performance with attitude.

We cut the lenses from a single lens shield and mounted them in the frame to maintain the original, continuous contour. HIGH DEFINITION OPTICS® (HDO®) gives you razor-sharp clarity at all angles of vision with patented innovations like XYZ OPTICS®, and the lens contours improve side protection against sun, wind and impact. Optical performance exceeds ANSI Z87.1 standards while impact resistance meets every test of ANSI Z80.3, thanks to pure PLUTONITE® lens material and a frame of durable yet comfortably lightweight O MATTER®. Finished with sculpturally integrated hinges and true metal icons, this 10th Mountain edition is where attitude meets honor.

These sunglasses are engineered with our Warm Grey lens color to reduce glare in medium to bright light. Each frame comes with a specially designed MICROCLEAR™ bag for lens cleaning and frame storage, plus a commemorative pin.

  • Oakley’s meanest O Matter® frame to date
  • Lightweight, stress resistant O Matter® frame material
  • Extended wrapped frame geometry to fit medium to large faces
  • Metal icon accents
  • Sculpturally integrated hinge mechanisms with dual cam action
  • Dual lens polaric ellipsoid geometry (two lenses cut from single toric shield)
  • Plutonite® lens material blocks 100% of all UVA, UVB, UVC and harmful blue light
  • XYZ Optics® for maximized clarity at all angles of vision, even at lens periphery
  • Exceeds ANSI Z87.1 standards for impact and optical requirements
